• It works because it starts inside.

    • Boosts elasticity. Increases firmness.
      Restores skin tone.
    • Reduces roughness + redness.
    • Enhances hydration.
    • Fights UV damage.
  • A radically new approach.

One of the main functions of our skin is to form a protective barrier against the external environment, so naturally our skin tries to keep out what many skin care products try to push in. Topical products therefore work primarily to help achieve optimal moisture levels at the skin’s surface and don’t go deep into the dermal layer where true skin beautifying effects take place. Since our skin is nourished from the inside via blood, Ascenta Skin takes a radically different approach to skin care.
  • Enhances hydration.

Hydration is essential for the health of any tissue, including skin. Without proper hydration the skin cannot repair properly which leads to dullness, roughness, and inflammation. The active GLA has been shown to increase hydration, reduce dry skin, reduce itchiness, and decrease roughness and scaling of skin. Lutein was also found to be very effective at increasing skin hydration.
  • Fights UV damage.

Excessive exposure to the sun’s UV rays is the number one cause of accelerated skin aging. Protecting the skin against the harmful effects of UV rays is therefore essential to producing youthful looking skin at all ages. The actives EPA and DHA have demonstrated a protective effect against UV rays and an increased resistance to sunburn. In addition, the actives lutein and zeaxanthin, when taken orally, fortify the skin’s natural defence against UV rays.
  • Boosts elasticity. Increases firmness.
    Restores skin tone.

Elasticity, firmness, and skin tone are important qualities that define youthful looking skin. Based on a number of human clinical trials the Ascenta actives lutein and GLA have demonstrated very positive results for increasing elasticity and firmness thereby improving skin tone.
  • Reduces roughness and redness.

Chronic inflammation of the skin produces redness and is at the root of many skin conditions. The actives EPA and DHA provide a combined anti-inflammatory effect which has been shown to reduce redness and improve the overall condition of the skin.

Vitamin D

Sunlight is the primary source of the important pro-hormone vitamin D, but moderating sun exposure is important for skin health, so it’s been added to Ascenta Skin. Vitamin D is responsible for many regulatory functions in the body including bone mineralization, immune system function and gene expression.

Vitamin D3 is produced in the skin when exposed to sunlight. Ascenta Skin contains Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) rather than the less biologically potent Vitamin D2 (which can be derived from several plant sources such as mushrooms, however it is biologically less potent than vitamin D3.
